Aiken recently performed on NPR’s nationally syndicated radio show MOUNTAIN STAGE Feb 2012, which will air MAY 6 2012, just in time for her 2012 3 month national tour.
After years of touring and performing, beginning in 1969
from NY to California, the Pacific Northwest, South America and Europe, Caroline
Aiken returned to her roots in
Georgia in the mid 80's, to her hometown of Atlanta, where she became a dynamic
force in the city's acoustic and folk scene, influencing up and coming young
Georgia artists including Shawn Mullins and the Indigo Girls. Touring to support

Bonnie Raitt on guitar and vocals on 2 songs. Her bluesy voice, masterful finger
picking guitar style and hypnotic stage presence made her the artist of choice
to
open for such diverse music legends as Arlo Guthrie, Muddy Waters, Doc Watson,
Bonnie Raitt, Randy Newman, Little Feat, the Beach Boys,
Richie Havens and many others during her 43 year career.
She has been headliner on the main stage at the Kerrville
Festivals (14 times since ’95), Falcon Ridge, High Sierra, Ga. Music Hall Of
Fame mainstage performances
with B52s and Mother’s Finest and Otis Redding Songwriting Camp, and co-billed
with Ruthie Foster at the Mendocino Music Festival, with radio support in all
corners of the country and Europe.
She teaches SPAWNING GROUND performance workshops for all ages and has a stable
of talented students making their mark with her guidance.
Caroline has performed for countless charitable events for at risk children,
animals, and environmental awareness.
